Rangers Women International Football Club have made history after defeating Awka Angels 2-0 in the final to clinch the fourth edition of the Judith Chime Championship. The championship,organised by former Super Falcons shot stopper, Judith Chime aims to develop Women Football and groom young talents. For Rangers Women, this triumph comes after churning out impressive results at the NWFL play-offs and securing a slot to play in the Nigeria Women Football League Championship next season. The CEO/ General Manager of Rangers International Football Club, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku appreciated the Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter.N. Mbah for his unwavering support to the club and commitment to sports development , he also congratulated the girls for their outstanding performance. "First and foremost, I must appreciate His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah for providing an enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state. He supported our move to inaugurate the Women's team and I am delighted that we started this journey. Two months ago, we secured a ticket to play in the Women's Championship and now we have achieved yet another feat. This shows resilience and commitment on the part of our girls, they are hungry for victory, they play with passion, the fire in their bones is unquenchable, Congratulations to the team." He went further to thank the organizer of the tournament Mrs. Judith Chime for her indefatigable commitment to the development of Women's football especially at the grassroot level. " I must have to commend Mrs. Judith Chime for organising such as a tournament, she has invested a lot to ensure that young girls are given the opportunity to showcase their talents. Rangers Women also clinched individual awards as Gold Uzodinma won the most valuable player award,Ekene Favour was as named as the joint Best Goalkeeper of the tournament with Ebere Nzuko of Awka Angels.
