Two Rangers stars, Kenneth Igboke and Chibueze Oputa, have earned call-ups to the Nigerian National Team ahead of the Unity Cup set to hold in London. Right-back Chibueze Oputa, who joined Rangers from Solution FC this season, has enjoyed an impressive debut NPFL campaign, featuring in 29 matches and providing 6 assists. Kenneth Igboke continues his steady rise through the ranks after helping Rangers lift the NPFL title in the 2023/24 season.The left-back first received national recognition during the U-20 WAFU B Tournament, where he played a key role in Nigeria’s triumph and qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, although injury later ruled him out of the tournament. In 2024, he earned another Super Eagles invitation under Finidi George for the World Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and South Africa. The Super Eagles will face Zimbabwe on May 26 in the opening game of the four-nation Unity Cup. A win would see them progress to the final against either India or Jamaica.
